The Imperial Rus Ballet
For the first time on a scene in Romania, 45 ballet dancers of the Imperial Rus Ballet will evolve in the period 15-16 January 2008 at Sala Palatului, the Ballet in 3 acts "Romeo and Juliet" and other spectacles like "Don Quijote" and "Bolero", the 45 ballet dancers dancing.
In the first show from 15 january the ballet dancers will perform "Romeo and Juliet". The artistic director is Gediminas Taranda, music by Serghei Prokofiev and the choreography is signed by Leonid Lavrovsky.
The version of "Romeo and Juliet" which the ballet dancers will present at Bucharest was inaugurated in feb. 2004 and represents the adaptation of the Imperial Rus Ballet of the famous choregraphy of Leonid Lavrovsky, realizes by his son, Mikhail Lavrovsky, who is playing the role of Romeo in his fathers production. The putting in scene of the play is the resolt of the creativity of one of the most known scene painters , Evgeny Lysik and Anna Ipatieva.
On the 16 january, the russian ballet troupe will performe in the first part of the evening "Don Quijote" (music by M.Minkus and choregraphy M.Taranda) "The death of the swan"(music A.Sain Saen, choregraphy M.Fokine with the soloist Valentina Batrak) "Gopak"- solo from the Ballet "Taras Bulla"(music by V.Soleviev-Seday, choregraphy R.Zaharov, with soloist Roman Arkhipov) "Giselle" Step in two from Ballet (music by A.Adam, choregraphy Coralli-Petipa, soloists Anastasia Mikhakina and Narman Bekzhanov) and "Don't leave me"(music Jacques Brel-"Ne me guitte pas" choreography Elena Bogdanovich, soloist Anna Pashkova).
The second part of the Ballt Imperial Rus performance includes the show "Bolero" on Rovel's music, on the choregraphy of N.Androsov. The scenography and the costumes are signed by Alla Kozhenkova.
The choreography of this Ballet it is made by Nikolay Androsov, special for the Imperial Rus Ballet and for the soloists:Maija Plisetskaya and Gediminas Taranda. The first performance took place in 1996, in Japan.
The Russian Imperial Ballet was created in 1994 from the initiative of Maija Pliselskaya, who until 2004 was the president of honour. The artistic director of the Ballet is Gediminas Taranda who before creating the company was the main soloist of the Baboi Theatre from Moscov and followed the career of choreographer under the hand of Yury Gregorivich.
The repertory of the company includes classic ballet shows like:The Swan Lake", "Sleeping Beauty", The nut Cracker", "Romeo and Juliet", "Giselle", "Carmen", "don Quijote", "Silfida', "Chopiniano'. "Sheherezada", "Polovetsien's Dances", "The Evening of a Faun", "Petrushka", "The devotion of the Spring", "Bolero", The Fantastic Dance"ans other short choreographies.
The event from Bucharest is organized by Romanian Association of the European Future and Galaterra Association under the hand of the Ministry of Culture and Cults.
